What is Moses about?

Moses is about connecting with God through musical performance.

We aim to connect with his story and everything he endured, using performing arts as a way to participate in all the ways Moses led the Israelites to God.

Our work here is also to reflect on the values Moses has passed on over the years.

These values include leadership, faith in God through prayer and sacrifice and courageousness.

Who was Moses?
Moses is the prophet of God who led the Israelites out of Egypt.
He was born an Israelite in Egypt before being sent to the River Nile to avoid getting killed by the Pharaoh's order to kill every male newborn. When the pharaoh's daughter found him in the river, she raised him as her child in the palace.

After killing an Egyptian who was beating an Israeli, he was exiled from Egypt. One day, after working 40 years as a shepherd, he heard God's voice through a burning bush, which told him to lead the Israelites out of Egypt to the Promised Land.
Moses asked the pharaoh to free the Israelites, and he refused. Thus, God became angry and sent him ten plagues. The final plague led to the death of the pharaoh's eldest son and those sons whose doorposts had not been covered with lamb's blood.

Searching for vengeance, the pharaoh sent his army after them. When they arrived at the Red Sea, God told Moses to lift his cane to part the sea in two, allowing the Israelites to arrive to the other side. When they were safe, they went on a long journey in the desert. In this long journey through Moses God provided them food in many different ways, such as by making Moses strike a rock.

It is also in this journey that God told him to climb Mount Sinai, where he received the Ten Commandments.
